A Visit to Shaheed Bhagat Singh’s Ancestral Home

PIND Khatkar Kallan di Yaatra. The village where Shaheed Bhagat Singh wa sborn and was raised. Its a very important place historically, but the condition it is in today is really heart breaking. Its nothing more than just another house on the block for the government. I visited the village along with a friend of mine to see it for myself. The roads have been named after his name, but the roads as well as the mile stone are lying in dilapidated condition and are full of cheap advertisements pasted on the face. Th home itself seems to be managed, but no one in particluar feels any honor for having done so… here are the images that narrate the story themselves:
